Laura Bohannon grew up in San Francisco and moved to Colorado at age 13, where she discovered her love for the outdoors. She attended Colorado State University, and after graduation spent much of her twenties traveling internationally, learning from rural communities around the world. No matter how far she traveled, Colorado always drew her back.
In 2013, Laura made Eagle County her home and later pursued a second degree in Leadership in Sustainability from Colorado Mountain College. In 2020, she joined the Eagle County Conservation District part-time to help strengthen its operations and has since grown into her current role as Executive Director. Today, she leads the District’s efforts to promote natural resource management and conservation through technical and financial assistance, program development, and education and outreach.
Allegra was born in Upstate New York, and has lived in various parts of Colorado since 2010 and in Eagle County since 2020. She has always been passionate about natural lands, and can usually be found running, climbing, skiing, or hiking in remote places.
Allegra has her BA in Biology from Colorado College, and she joined the ECCD team in 2022. Prior to working for ECCD, she worked on wildlife and resource conservation projects around the globe, as well as throughout all four corners of Colorado.
Denyse was born in Missouri and has called Eagle County home since 2018. She loves plants and gardening, and volunteering in the community as a Master Gardener. Outside of gardening, she enjoys hiking with her dogs and biking.
Denyse joined the ECCD team in 2025. Before coming to ECCD, she worked as a horticulture and agriculture specialist in Colorado and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tanzania, where she focused on agricultural projects. She holds a M.S. in Agronomy from Penn State University and a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences from Truman State University.
Born in Delaware, Greg moved to Colorado in 2017 to study Natural Resources Management at Colorado State University (CSU).
He has worked on various conservation projects across the Front Range, primarily in grassland ecosystems. He is currently working on his master’s in Natural Resources Stewardship, focusing on ecological restoration. In his free time, Greg enjoys biking, skiing, and writing music.
Ryan has lived around the world, but he has always called the Valley home. You can find him on the hill skiing or getting distracted by the wildflowers. He spends his free time reading, gardening, traveling, or refurbishing thrifted mid-mod furniture.
Ryan joined the ECCD in 2025. He has his BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Lake Forest College. Before joining the ECCD, he worked abroad as an agribusiness consultant, but he has spent most of the last decade working in landscaping and horticulture locally.
Shawn is an edapathologist who studies how living things interact with the soil. She runs a commercial compost facility in Wolcott and also owns a soil consulting business in Eagle. She in the process of transforming her tiny homestead into an edible landscape that demonstrates permaculture concepts in a small-scale urban environment. Shawn is passionate about supporting local food systems and regenerative soil practices that foster healthy communities.
Scott was born and raised a rancher here in Eagle County and even skis on occasion. He currently manages a ranch on the Colorado River Road raising hay and cattle. He is also a competitive team roper and darned good country swing dancer.
Wendy has lived in the valley for over 30 years. She has been involved with many local charities and events and is a real estate developer and general contractor. Wendy currently lives on 35 acres North of Eagle where, when she is not traveling seeing the world, she raises hay and cares for her horses.
Scott became an Eagle County real estate broker in 1989 after some years managing various Vail restaurants and hotels. He opened his own firm in 2001. He and his family own the Brush Creek Ranch - dedicated to the enhancement of the ranch as working farm. Scott is an outdoor adventure enthusiast who enjoys cycling, mountaineering, winter sports and back country horseback trips.
Linn Brooks was born and educated in Colorado in geology, engineering, hydrology and water quality and is the former General Manager of the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District, headquartered in Vail, CO. She served for 11 years on the Colorado Water Congress board of directors, with 2 years as its president. She currently serves as a board director for Holy Cross Energy, which provides electrical service to Eagle County and portions of Pitkin and Garfield Counties, with a strong focus on reliability, advancing renewable energy supplies, and keeping rates among the lowest in the country. She is a Colorado Master Gardener, where she has focused on water conservation and soil health, and has served on the Eagle County Conservation District board since May 2025.
Clayton is a 4th generation rancher in Gypsum CO. He works alongside his father and sister on his family ranch where they run a cow calf operation and farm 1500 acres of hay.
Niki is a 3rd generation rancher at Luark Ranch in Burns, Colorado. She currently raises cattle and horses with her husband, Pat. They have an outfitting business on King Mountain and hope that their two sons will take over the ranch in the future.
