EAGLE COUNTY WATER AND SNOW

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), a close partner of Eagle County Conservation District, runs a network of snowpack and climate sensors called SNOTEL (short for "SNOwpack TELemetry"). SNOTEL stations have been gathering data since 1980, providing critical information for water supply forecasts and resource management decisions.

Here you can find snow and precipitation maps that have been generated using SNOTEL data for both the Colorado Headwaters River Basin and for Eagle County, as well as a state-wide drought map.

    Current Snow Water Equivalent

    Eagle County

Graph showing the projected snow water equivalent (in inches) of all sites within and adjacent to the selected watershed for the remainder of the water year, for a range of possible outcomes.

      Current Accumulated Precipitation

      Eagle County

Graph comparing the current accumulated precipitation (in inches) to all other years from the historical record. The precipitation values are the average from all sites within and adjacent to the watershed.
