WILDLIFE CONFLICT PROGRAM

A no-cost wildlife conflict program for Eagle County producers

ECCD has partnered with the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) to offer a new Wildlife Conflict Program, providing support to producers experiencing wildlife conflict in Eagle County. Through this cooperative agreement, trained wildlife specialists are available to respond to depredation, assess damage, and help producers protect their operations.

All services are fully funded by ECCD, conservation district partners, and the USDA, and are provided at no cost to producers.

Protect Your Operation

If wildlife is threatening your livestock or property, trained USDA Wildlife Services specialists are available to respond quickly, assess the situation, and help protect your operation. Specialists provide both technical assistance (advice, recommendations, and training) and direct control when a producer's own efforts have proven insufficient.

A Few Things to Know

Work on private land begins only after a work initiation document is executed between Wildlife Services and the landowner, lessee, or administrator.

All operations are conducted in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and under the supervision of APHIS Wildlife Services.

Certain control methods are restricted under Colorado law and may require permits from Colorado Parks and Wildlife before use.

For work on private land, you and the specialist sign a brief work initiation document before any work begins. The specialist then provides technical guidance, hands-on control, or both - whatever fits your situation.
