BACKYARD CONSERVATION

Practicing conservation can look like many things.  Whether large or small, conservation efforts are important for all landowners. In an urban setting, implementing smart irrigation practices and water efficient landscaping can promote water conservation, healthy soils and thriving ecosystems.

Waterwise Landscaping

ECCD developed the Beyond Lawn Program in partnership with the Eagle River Coalition and CSU Extension.

Designed to improve outdoor water efficiency and incentivize the removal of thirsty Kentucky Bluegrass lawns by replacing our landscapes with native and resilient vegetation adapted to our Rocky Mountain climate.
